Into the second step of steel

This will be a delayed post
on the 18th we learnt how we get steel from iron
AND
Raw material like
iron ore
coke
limestone
then we will get ore when u extract the rock , steel is a malleable material which you can bend are you can create fluid shape (DUCTILE)
and ma'am taught us that when load (dead load or live load) is applied on steel it will automatically bend and the upper surface of the steel will be compress  and  the bottom of  surface  shows the tensile  property.
so ma'am explained this with a her hand which is more easy to understand but if she had explained with a airless balloon that would have been a better example ;because the balloon is simply expandable and  an elastic material .
we saw that steel will change in character when you add the different metals

example; aluminium : which is improves surface hardening
chromium : increase the corrosion resistance and hardening
copper  :  same as chromium and it increase the strength also

Steel is also ductile -eventhough you change it's form it does not break (ductility).examples : cables used in tensile membrane structures

The 5 main topics  we discussed

plastic deformation
ductile
brittleNESS
fracture (its signature name is human neck)
necking
hardness

I'm not sure if these are all the topics
