STEEL SHAPING
Back to day 3 of the class .This class was about shaping of steel. Two of sections are (Hot rolled section, cold rolled section) .Hot rolled steel is rolled out of the casting area to a specific thickness.Cold rolled is the common term for steel products shaped by cold working processes carried out in room temperature. The other methods are (cold hardening, quenching, tempering, annealing, galvanization) in galvanization there are two types (hot dipped, cold dipped) Difference between Hot steel section and Cold steel section: Hot steel section Cold steel section * cheaper *surface finish * easy to make * tolerance *1700 degree f *cold reduction mills cooling *larger size product * harder to work with Methods to prevent corrosion: *Painted *Galvanized *Chemically treated Electropolishing : it is an electrochemical process that allows to decrease the surface roughness. Corrosion treatment are (applying, galvanizing, copper alloy) so that all about steel shaping.
